A few photos from the recent visit to Whitesville. This was the first visit for the little one to see his great-grandparents and several other relatives.

The little-bit enjoyed mastachioli, gnocchi, pizzels and other Italian fare with Grandpa's family in Minneapolis before heading to Wisconsin for a cousin's wedding. Highlights were Minnehaha Falls with Grandpa and Pro-Nonna, the 'baby cows' on the farm and chasing pets at all the aunties' houses.

Well, it took us two and a half years but we finally put the hammock together. And who's to say we rush into things?! Here's a photo of Annette and her little one hangin' out together. Also, below are a few photos from a quick session we had on the front driveway. The chair in the photo belonged to my grandfather and he always enjoyed sitting out in front of the house to watch whatever was going on. Tonight the "Battle of the Nuk" was going on.

Cheerios are the hardest little buggers to put into your mouth. Here is a series of images where the little one was trying to put the Cheerio into his mouth, but it slipped out and landed between him and his high-chair. He dug around for a little while before more were graciously provided.

For all you PC lovers out there, here's a copy of your wallpaper with the little bit on the right side of the screen. These shots are from a session in the studio this afternoon.

One of the members of this househould, a.k.a. Annette, thinks these two expressions are similar. What do you think?
These are hot off the press! After you click on the image, they should be the proper size for desktop wallpaper. Let us know what you think!

For those of you keeping score at home, another tooth has come in since this last photo. We were just a little slow posting it onto the blog.

The little one has discovered the world of Sesame Street. The strange thing is that it hasn't changed much from when we were kids. Here is a photo of Elmo's two newest fans.

This is the original photo

This is the photo after I color-corrected it due to an incorrect white balance.

This photo was converted to grayscale and then cropped so that his eyes would be in the upper left corner. This follows the "rule of thirds" theory about photography.

And this photo was simply converted to grayscale.
Because the white balance wasn't 100% correct, the photo was changed to black and white. EDUCATION: A digital camera uses white balance to determine what is "white" under that lighting condition. The next time you're under flourescent bulbs, look around and see if some appear yellow and others appear blue. That's because they have a different light temperature - the blue ones are "daylight" and the yellow "cool white". The camera converts all the light in the image according to the color temperature. If you perform a custom white balance, than that, in theory, takes all the different temperatures of light falling on your subject and balances them out so that your colors are correct.
