More posts coming soon
We'll be posting soon (soon is a relative term) photos from Kevin's Eagle Scout project, Christopher's Birthday, and other interesting things happening in our world. Sorry for the delay - just haven't gotten around to it lately.

Notes from today
Annette is going to a conference in Lexington over the next few days so I'm on "Mr. Mom" detail. Here are some lessons learned from the day:
1. Don't leave the little girl unattended for long or her breakfast will end up in her hair.
2. Your really nice glass water pitchers have a higher BF than you might have thought. However, don't try it out on your own. (BF = bounce factor)
3. Nap time passes quicker than a bullet train.

Geocaching with Grandpops
Okay, so it wasn't a very successful geocache... but it was a very successful evening of swinging, bark throwing and frisbee!

One Simple Picture
THE MISSION: to get four children under the age of three -- all who are nearing nap time -- to sit happily on Grandpa's lap for a simple picture...
The RESULT:

...Three out of four and one happy Grandpa... NOT HALF BAD!

Father's Day at the Park
We celebrated Father's Day with Papa on Saturday with a picnic breakfast at the park and then some play on the toys and exploration in the children's garden. What a wonderful carefree day!

Juxtaposition
Clara is a girl of many talents. She can be very cute and dainty while running around the playground in the morning, and then on the same day, she can tear into a lovely dessert of Buster Bar with tenacity like a bear hunting trout.

Kevin's project
It started with an idea around the dinner table at mom & dad's house nearly a year ago. Now, the flag pole and soldier's memorial at the Union City Building is nearly complete as Uncle Kevin's Eagle Scout Project takes shape. We were proud to be a part of his efforts... we've hopefully even planted some seeds with a couple of young 'scouts-to-be'. As Christopher dug holes in the dirt at our house later that day he exclaimed, "Mama, I'm making a project". Thanks Uncle Kevin & great job on yours!

Birthday
Granny's birthday is coming up this week. To celebrate, we got a chocolate cake from Kroger's and chicken from KFC.

In this photo, Christopher is demonstrating the washing machine to Aunt Kitty.

Welcome home
Tim - It was good to have you home for a little while.
(For those of you keeping score back at home, Tim snuck into town on Mother's Day Weekend. Dave, Wiggins and other co-conspirators helped instigate this quick visit. He's been away at Americorps for the past several months and will return home in August.)

Universal
There is a universally accepted way to play video games. Christopher is demonstrating it below while playing Mario Kart on the Nintendo Wii.

Homemade Bubbles
We were playing with homemade bubbles earlier this afternoon. One of them landed on Clara's head and - well - a fohawk was born.

And here's a photo of us standing near a field of them.

Just a few photos of the kiddos playing in the yard. Clara is sporting her "Life is Good" attire while Christopher is decorating with some sidewalk chalk.
