Kevin's project
It started with an idea around the dinner table at mom & dad's house nearly a year ago. Now, the flag pole and soldier's memorial at the Union City Building is nearly complete as Uncle Kevin's Eagle Scout Project takes shape. We were proud to be a part of his efforts... we've hopefully even planted some seeds with a couple of young 'scouts-to-be'. As Christopher dug holes in the dirt at our house later that day he exclaimed, "Mama, I'm making a project". Thanks Uncle Kevin & great job on yours!

Birthday
Granny's birthday is coming up this week. To celebrate, we got a chocolate cake from Kroger's and chicken from KFC.

In this photo, Christopher is demonstrating the washing machine to Aunt Kitty.

Welcome home
Tim - It was good to have you home for a little while.
(For those of you keeping score back at home, Tim snuck into town on Mother's Day Weekend. Dave, Wiggins and other co-conspirators helped instigate this quick visit. He's been away at Americorps for the past several months and will return home in August.)

Universal
There is a universally accepted way to play video games. Christopher is demonstrating it below while playing Mario Kart on the Nintendo Wii.

I Spy!
This is a funny series... the two cousins are interested in the book Uncle Kevin is looking at...

until their interest begins to wain...

...and then there was one.

Homemade Bubbles
We were playing with homemade bubbles earlier this afternoon. One of them landed on Clara's head and - well - a fohawk was born.

Every year around Earth Day, Middle Creek Park has a beautiful display of Spring Blue Eyed Marys. They fill the valley with their little blue flower. Here's their classification:
Kingdom Plantae – Plants
Subkingdom Tracheobionta – Vascular plants
Superdivision Spermatophyta – Seed plants
Division Magnoliophyta – Flowering plants
Class Magnoliopsida – Dicotyledons
Subclass Asteridae
Order Scrophulariales
Family Scrophulariaceae – Figwort family
Genus Collinsia Nutt. – blue eyed Mary
Species Collinsia verna Nutt. – spring blue eyed Mary
And here's a photo of us standing near a field of them.

Playing in the yard
Just a few photos of the kiddos playing in the yard. Clara is sporting her "Life is Good" attire while Christopher is decorating with some sidewalk chalk.

Gobblers
We had quite a morning as you can see from the photo. Paul and I both took our first turkey today. All we need now is wheat bread, tomato, lettuce and a little bit of mayo.

Trip to Louisville
The kids and I (Annette) took a quick little spring break get-away to Louisville with Granny. We found lots to do! Some of the highlights were tours of the Louisville Slugger Factory, the Science Museum and Louisville Glassworks as well as the local parks and the hotel pool. It was great to see Uncle Todd & Svarit too... thanks for taking time out to see us!

Dessert Cookies
The kids had a good time with these delicious desserts of graham crackers and icing. The funny thing is, both of them only want to eat the icing and not the graham. Go figure. Clara is very happy to show you all 4 of her teeth while Christopher peers over his glasses, something we try to discourage.

Game trail
Christopher and Uncle Paul went for a walk (along with Papa) last Saturday morning looking for turkeys. We didn't find any, but we did see plenty of game trails and deer tracks. There were even some lightsabers someone carelessly left out in the woods for Christopher to play with (aka: sticks).
Papa with Clara
Another Easter photo to show. This one is Clara with Papa. The reason Christopher isn't in the photo is because he was throwing a tantrum at the time.

Easter Morning
Here's a photo we took early on Easter Sunday morning. Cousin Alex came over to go to church with us that morning.

Easter photos
Here are a few photos from Easter Celebrations. We had a great time hanging out with Babo at Atria. Then, later in the day, getting the Easter Eggs ready were the activity for these hands on Holy Saturday.

Friday
Today is Good Friday. For all of you who are keeping score out there in the world, know that our little guy made it through everything very well so far. Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers.
Playing in the snow
After the blizzard, we went out to play in the snow. Clara was bundled up warm with her Grandma while Christopher enjoyed sleds that went both down and up hill.

Blizzard of 08
For those of you in Wisconsin, and other parts of the country, we have your snow and we'd like to return it to you. Clearly this was a mistake. We're not going to point any fingers, but you know who you are.

Not only have we had fun with our latest photography musings, they also happen to be images of our prettiest little subject. Check out our little girl at one year old!

Updates
Sorry for the lack of posts recently. Here are a few photos from our February visit to the Contemporary Arts Center downtown where they were making animal masks during the Fine Arts Fund Sampler Weekend.
